Felicity ran away from home when she was 16 years old. You'll never hear her speak about what happened before that time. As far as she's concerned, she was born at 16. She'd been saving her birthday and Christmas money since she was 12. She bought a ticket to the United States, intent on starting over. Unfortunately, she really didn't think that one through. She ended up living on the streets of New York City for a year. She'd sleep in abandoned buildings, whenever she could find one, and eat at soup kitchens. This was when she first discovered her love of making beats. This would be her saving grace.
One day in 2003, she met Cameron Martin. He had heard her music from the street and gone down the alley to investigate. He invited her back to his hotel to get cleaned up and have a good meal. She thanked him profusely, grateful for the kindness she hadn't seen in ages. That was when Cam invited her to live with him. She's asked him what made him offer and he's really not sure.
Cissy finished her schooling while still working on her music. She also got a part time job. Eventually she was able to move out on her own (she went back to New York), but her and Cameron have remained very close friends. She's had a few residencies at different clubs, spinning under the name Cissy Fiasco. She moved to West Chester recently at Cam's suggestion.
